A good opportunity for members to discuss various matters of interest such as associate membership, the sergeant's session to ensure an even and equitable spread of fines/contributions. We also learned from Chris Black's positive experience as a mentor on the Ngatahi Hapori Tawa school leavers' pilot programme and his question about how Rotary can contribute in the next phase of the programme such as mentoring.
It was a special night to donate a defibrillator to the Tawa Bowling Club. A Rotary Foundation grant has helped towards the cost of this medical equipment. The Bowling Club president, Grant Traill, was very grateful to receive this donation and noted how important it is to have this equipment available as the club membership continues to grow and it's reassuring to have such kit available for an emergency.
This week's parting thought from Tom Humphries: "It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first." Ronald Reagan
