Tuesday 26 Sept included a short visit from Stephanie Knight. Pres Richard invited Stephanie to talk on a couple of projects - something that Tawa Rotary could consider supporting. A group of Tawa Intermediate students is leading a campaign to redevelop and improve Tawa Skate Park. She also updated Tawa Rotary on the rebuild on the dirt bike track next to Tawa Rail Station. Stephanie's enthusiasm is evident as she strives to engage community wide support for these projects that improve activity areas for our youth.
For the Member's 3 minute talk, Malcolm Andrews didn't need all that time as he conveyed a very clear message encouraging male members to get checked for prostate cancer. September is Prostrate Cancer awareness month.
For the Club forum, Pres Richard invited input on Tawa Rotary's meeting protocols.
A parting thought to complete the meeting:
“Our success or failure will not depend upon the machinery of Rotary or its physical growth, but upon the extent to which Rotary’s ideals or objectives are translated into positive, tangible results in personal, business, community, and international life. We shall be known by our works.” — Almon E Roth, Rotarian quoted in The Second Quarter Century, THE ROTARIAN, July 1930
