Toot4Tucker - Tawa Foodbank
Our annual Toot4Tucker - street collection for Tawa Foodbank is happening on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th December.
Can all Rotarians please keep these dates free as we are looking to have a large turnout. This collection, led by Tawa Rotary, is being undertaken in conjunction with local service organisations, family and friends. Hoping for great weather as we go through the streets of Tawa!
We meet at the Tawa Fire Station at 5.30pm for briefing and teams' assignment before we travel to different sites in Tawa to start collecting. Collection is scheduled from 6-8pm.
Good news was received that the Porirua Rotary Toot4Tucker collection last week went really well.
Tawa Christmas Parade -
Our thanks to OneAgency who involved their families alongwith 2 utes to participate in the Tawa Christmas Parade - we decorated the utes with signage and created noise with blowing a horn to raise local awareness about this week's Toot4Tucker.
Great to see a turnout of Tawa Rotarians helping with the Tawa Lions Christmas Parade on Saturday.

Christmas – Pot Luck Progressive Dinner
Back by popular demand is the “Pot Luck Progressive Dinner” on Saturday 12th December 2015, from 6.30pm.
- Attendees do the cooking and keep us all guessing!
- ‘progressive’ - attendees go from house to house.
- Event outline - three homes for entrees, three homes for mains, and then a central home for dessert and coffee.
- Each couple will be allocated their venues (and timetable) to attend, and one of those venues to provide their ‘pot luck dish’.
Being as we are responsible drivers, and conscious of the new drink driving laws, the emphasis of the event is food and fellowship, but you are welcome to assist with BYO.
Malcolm invites offers of hosts, and Club Service believes hosts don’t need to provide a ‘pot luck dish’, but perhaps a few drinks. Otherwise there is no cost.
Hope you are all able to attend.
Any questions please contact Malcolm Andrews.
Hangi at Te Rito
We are invited to join with Te Rito Gardens at our last meeting for the year on Tuesday 15 December. A hangi alongwith fresh produce from the gardens will provide an enticing meal plus we will see the gardens that owner, Steve Wilson, talked about at another of our Rotary meetings. Te Rito Gardens is located in Hassell Road, old Porirua Hospital site, Kenepuru.
Andrew Watson is co-ordinating this event.
