Presidential Heart to Heart
Tawa Rotary Club has been looking for projects that will help the residents of Tawa, and will particularly help people’s health and fitness.
Tawa Rotary’s President Martin Garcia said the Club decided to donate a defibrillator worth $2500 to the Tawa Bowling Club. He said “we heard that the Bowling Club needed this equipment but were unable to find the necessary amount themselves, so we thought this was an ideal chance for us to help. We had some money available from fund-raising and we were able to obtain a Rotary Foundation grant for the balance.”

Grant said “this will be really helpful for our Club. Tawa Bowling Club has over 170 playing members, and our Ladies’ Group started fund-raising for a defibrillator but found the cost was beyond their means. “Now, he said, “we can provide speedy health assistance to any of our members and to visitors to our club. This will be a great asset for the Club and for Tawa.”
