From President Richard Our Book Fair has now had done its three-week run and we have pack up the remaining books, around 200 boxes so less than we started with. Our gross takings are a little over $10k and there are some advertising expenses to cover, but we have done well. The next week being the first Tuesday in November will be our Melbourne Cup night visit to the Plimmerton Rotary club, I understand there will be about 16 of us from Tawa and possibly some from Porirua as well. The Venue is the Mana Cruising Club, the general festivities start at 4:00pm and dinner will be starting at 6:00pm, don’t feel bad if you can’t make the early start time. Late November we have Stuff the Trailer with Inner Wheel, I understand that things are well progressed in the organisation of this event so keep some time free on November 28th. At the recent board meeting we have pretty much filled the calendar through into the early new year, there are some great speakers coming up and a few special events. We are planning a Christmas function with a difference. In closing we have done well at the book fair and a working bee over the last few weeks, and there is still more Rotary to come. Let's all do Rotary together. |
