Joint meeting with Tawa Lions

Tuesday 3 February, we have a joint meeting with Tawa Lions. We’re also welcoming our guest speaker who is the former Mayor of Wellington, Kerry Prendergast.

New Year - New Members!

January is the month of Rotary Awareness and what better way to start than to welcome three new members to Tawa Rotary on 27 January: Elizabeth Sutton, Joe Asghar and Asst Governor John Sloan.

President Pat had the pleasure in welcoming these new members before handing over the president's chain for the remainder of this Rotary year to Martin Garcia.

Rev Tric Malcolm, Wellington City Missioner, was our guest speaker and covered a breadth of the many services that the City Mission provides in our region that extends from Wellington to Pukerua Bay and Upper Hutt.

Tric (pronounced Trish) joined the Wellington City Mission as City Missioner in March 2014, having worked for the Mission previously as a home help back in the early 1990’s. She’s also a former student from Tawa. The Wellington City Mission operates four community service programmes, Missions for: Families, Youth, Independence and Seniors. Thankyou Tric for an excellent introduction to the City Mission and it’s important place in our community.
