The Gigantic Tawa Rotary Book Fair kicks off this Saturday! 8am-6pm at Tawa’s New World Mall.
There are thousands of books all laid out ready for sale. And we’re still accepting donations.
So, Bring Your Own Bag (BYOB) and stock up with books at incredibly low prices - $2.00 or $3.00!
If you miss Saturday, the sale continues on Sunday 9am-5pm and repeats the next Saturday and Sunday.
Remember to support Tawa Rotary in being environmentally friendly and BYOB. See you this weekend (or the next).
The donation bin is in place in Tawa New World Mall to receive books, CDs and DVDs. Thank you in anticipation.
The proceeds of the book fair will fund charitable work in the community, with a significant proportion given to support the Life Education Trust (North Wellington).
Books can be dropped to the large bin that is placed for this purpose within the New World Mall north corridor. Or if donors would prefer to have the books collected then please forward the request to Doug Burrus (with a name, address and contact phone number).
For Tawa Rotarians who have books of their own for the Book Fair or who are holding stocks to contribute, then please bring them with you to one of the work bees.
Since 2003, the Rotary Club of Tawa has been running an annual book fair to raise funds for charity by collecting and offering thousands of books, DVD’s and CD’s for sale. Half of the profits have supported the North Wellington Life Education Trust. This is one of many projects to support our local community.
Tawa, Johnsonville and Plimmerton Rotary Clubs have worked together to support Life Education Trust (Wellington North). Unsold books from one book fair are transferred between clubs for other book fairs and are built up with further community book donations. .
Book Fairs are “true re-cycling operations” and all concerned are winners. The donors get rid of unwanted books, the buyers get bargains and the clubs/charities get funds – all the thousands of books sold at each fair keeping well clear of the rubbish tip.
